World Heat Beat Academy is a South London based community group working with disadvantaged children and young people to provide a music education and open up career pathways otherwise closed. They were awarded a new building in the new Embassy Gardens development in Nine Elms by the London Borough of Wandsworth and property developers Eco-World Ballymore to expand their work and provide a community hub.
SSV initiated the three main arrangements of generous loose seats on a flat floor to give different stage positions.
Room acoustics have been a key driver of the auditorium design. Sound Space Vision’s careful consideration of both amplified and unamplified uses; have led to a scheme of internal timber finishes with striking 3D relief providing aesthetic and acoustical excellence.
